The RTE All-Ireland Open Drama Finals got underway on Thursday night with Prosperous Drama Group and their production of Deadline by Robert Massey. A steady performance by the boys and girls from Kildare I believe, although Adjudicator Brian Marjoribanks didn’t over indulge in his first night on the boards in Athlone. First night and unlike last year, this adjudicator is keeping his cards close to his chest.

Read More Post a comment (0)It’s nearly upon us folks, just two days until kick off for the 60th All-Ireland Confined Finals in Shercock. The final countdown has begun. The sense of anticipation around the Breffni County is palpable! Okay, I may have stretched a little too far there but, among all drama followers in this neck of the woods, all the talk is of Shercock. Even the success of the newly crowned U21 Ulster Champions (Cavan) didn’t make the front page of the Anglo Celt this week. The drama in Shercock scored first.
Read More Post a comment (1)So the draw is complete for the 2012 All-Ireland Open Finals. On Thursday 3rd May Prosperous Drama Group from Kildare will get proceedings underway with their production of Deadline by Robert Massey.
Yesterday, at 2:30pm in the Dean Crowe Theatre, Athlone, in the presence of Athlone Mayor Alan Shaw, ADCIs Chairman Sean Corcoran & RTEs Karina Buckley the festival, in part, was officially launched. Part two is later this month in the Abbey Theatre, Dublin.
