Rónán Ward

Rónán is a member of the Corn Mill Theatre Group, Carrigallen, Co. Leitrim. He has played many parts over the years in such productions as Joseph Kilroy in Professor Tim for which he was nominated for best supporting actor in the All-Ireland Open Finals. Other performances include; Joe Fell in I do not like Thee Dr Fell, Ted in The Cavalcaders, Dr. Mick Brazil in Leave it to the Doctor, Mike Glavin in Sive, Kevin in Kevin’s Bed, Ian in Shining City, Martin in Brothers of the Brush. Also as Motor in Ride On!, Mr Law in Down written by Seamus O’Rourke and Tom in Philadelphia Here I Come! 

In 2012, Rónán playing the part of Ivan Curry in the Corn Mill Theatre’s production of The Seafarer by Conor McPherson which featured in the documentary series Simply Am-Dram broadcast on RTÉ television in Spring 2013. Ronan also appeared in RTÉ’s Storyland Four webisode The Begrudgers shot on location in Cavan.

Rónán directed The Communication Cord with the Ramor Players, Virginia in 2009. In 2014 Ronan directed and starred in The Devil’s Céilí by Philip Doherty & Kevin McGahern with his own group, the Corn Mill Theatre, winning the RTE All-Ireland Amateur Drama Festival, The Abbey Theatre Award and Best Director in the process. In 2015 he directed The Dead School by Pat McCabe.

A graphic & web designer by profession, Rónán is married to Visual Artist Orla Galligan and lives in Cavan where they run their own online stores homebird.ie and wordbird.ie.
